About Bloomington, Illinois: Where History Grows Evergreen

Bloomington is a lively McLean County located along the 1926-1977 alignment of Route 66. Settled in 1822 and later incorporated in 1850, Bloomington earned its nickname "Evergreen City" thanks to its lush, tree-lined avenues and the historic Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, established in 1860. The cemetery is located at 302 East Miller Street. There, visitors can explore beautifully kept grounds and discover the resting places of notable figures from Illinois history.
