About Odell, Illinois: Where History Fuels The Journey

Odell is a welcoming community located in Livingston County, along the 1926-1977 alignment of Route 66. Founded in 1856 along the Chicago and Alton Railroad, Odell grew into a thriving farming hub and today is home to roughly 1,000 residents.

Its crown jewel is the 1932 Standard Oil Station, a classic red-and-white service station that has become one of the most photographed stops on Route 66. Lovingly restored in 1997 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the station now serves as a visitor center and museum, giving travelers a chance to step back into the golden age of the American road trip.

Visitors to Odell can also admire the 1910 St. Paul Catholic Church, a striking Gothic Revival landmark and the town's vintage grain elevators, which stand as proud reminders of its agricultural heritage.
